What happened to spring!?!?! 5 inches of snow!!

What happened to spring??? I woke up this morning to snow and I hear we are supposed to get 5-7 inches!! I have spring fever sooo bad and this is NOT helping. I was supposed to start building my second coop today!!! ( I have today off work) Oh well at least it is pretty!

You must live just west of me - we are suppose to get 4 to 6 inches starting around noon today. Just south of here is to get 6 to 8. UGHH!!!! Hate, hate, hate...... My 12 week old chicks were loving the outside - now I will have to keep them coop up until it melts again.

Wow! Those are some awesome pictures! We don't get snow down here but once every 20-30 years in the good ole' South Texas. We got 11 inches in December of 2004! It snowed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day! You should have seen the folks around here. It was winter wonderland here! People even stopped on the highways to sled down the sides of overpasses with cardboards, anything they could find to slide down those overpasses-on the grass of course full of snow. It was nuts here! Today is Sunshine and bright green grass growing, needs mowing and flowers are everywheres. We have Indian Paintbrushes all on the highways now! Can't wait to go on a Bluebonnet drive up the Hill
Country. Might even stop at Brenham Texas for a good ole' Blue Bell Ice Cream Cone! Shame on me rubbing it in. There's light at the end of the tunnel, Spring will be there soon.

MissCheesy- You said it- Shame on you for rubbing it in! Enough is enough! We do not need anymore of this stuff! Oh well, having said that, not much we can do about it except watch it fall and then shovel it.

Thanks for making me feel even worse!! Just kidding! I know this has to end sometime! Its just that I have been sitting here dreaming of spring and I have all these plans in my head...new coop, new raised garden beds, cleaning the yard! Not to mention the fact that I have 16 chiks living in my dear son's closet!! Good thing he doesn't mind! As a matter of fact he thinks we should just find a way to put the second coop inside!!

It is pretty though! I just had a male cardinal at he feeder. I tried to get a pic but wasn't fast enough! I have two pair that nest in our evergreens in the front yard. I love to see the males against the snow. SOOOO beautiful!

I remember when I went to college in PA, it snowed 12" on the 14th of April...my B-day...was very sad that day...usually Spring is blooming forth down here in all it's glory....
