I have looked on this forum for a certain type of hardware that someone on here suggested to connect the horizontal wood on the top to each wood piece that is on its side going vertically from high to low. He mentioned Amazon . I went to store here and no luck. Does anyone know where that information is or what the name was of the piece. It is perfect for my doing it alone/fairly well measured/ new and improved / finally will be able to stand up in it/ want to finish it soon while I am motivated...chicken run. Thanks

Many hardware stores sell hurricane straps for fairly cheap.

Pretty vague description, need to learn the language....
....got a pic, either of what you are building or an example from online?
Are you talking about roof rafters?

The hurricane straps worked well. They are called rafter things here so I was confused at first.

a hurricane strap is probably over kill for a run, imo. they are designed to control uplift, not to secure a rafter to a sil. just toenail them and you'll be good to go.

if it's a lightly sloped roof you could use joist hangers and hang the rafters on the inside of the sil, then let the metal fly a few inches past the outside.
