Ok, I've been talking about getting chickens for a month. We had a plan. Take the summer to leisurely clear the land and build a coop. Then get the chicks in the spring of '09.
Well, I woke up the past two days babbling incoherently about chickens. No kidding. This morning I woke up and asked my husband if he was crowing like a rooster to wake me up. He was not.
Well, DH called me this afternoon and said that he was concerned about the chicken preoccupation I've developed and that he was going to slap together a coop in the next 6 weeks so we could get the chicks in the beginning of April since he was afraid I would totally lose it if I had to wait another year for chicks!
And then I had to open my big mouth and invite my daughter's preschool class out to our place in late April as a field trip to see the new chicks and the explore the coop before we put the chicks in it.
Now I'm freaking out. What have I committed to? Ack!
I'll post all my serious coop design questions in the coop section. This post is just to get the hysterics out of my system first.
