What herbs do you use to prevent parasites in your flock and how often?

I was thinking of building an outdoor shelter for my birds, and have the 6 week old fully feathered birds live out there on roots, and keep 4-5 week old ones inside with a heat lamp and give them herbs to prevent parasites. Well, I was wondering if I could give them these herbs for 2.5 weeks straight, and then give them herbs after that once a week for 3 days? I don't know how to go about this herb route, some people give their birds everyday, some people only give it to them once a week so parasites and bacteria don't develop a resistance. I just got myself a case of coccadis in my younger birds, so I was forced to treat them chemically after 17 young birds died.

There are a lot of us on this site that do not think that "natural ways" are the best options. We tend to think that good housing, good nutrition and as stress free life as possible will make healthy happy chickens. Then when they get ill we treat them with the appropriate chemical options.
But, we are not going to tell you which option is best.

If you've already lost chicks to coccidiosis, amprolium treated chick starter is the way to go! A good balanced diet, good housing, and generally good husbandry are the best here. Eating roots??? Did I misunderstand? Amprolium is not an antibiotic, and is approved in feed for organic flocks too. Mary
