I find suggested temps for incubator to be consistent but suggested humidity is all over the place.

First 18 days 40-65% depending on what source you read.
Last 3 days 60-75% depending on what source you read.

My Rcom Suro 20 suggests 40-45% first 18 and over 65% the last 3 days.

Why the big discrepancy in the first 18 days?
Any real life tests of different humidity levels?
What humidity level do you use and how has your hatch turned out?
Any other thoughts?

Thanks,
Jeff

I just completed my first hatch ever.....and used a homemade bator. I keep my humidity at 30- 40% the first 18 days and 60 - 65% the last 3 days. All 6 of my eggs hatched on day 21. With a 100% hatch rate I will be doing that method for all future hatches. My humidity in the bator stayed about 30% lower than the humidity in my house (that's just how mine worked).

Go with what it suggests - the range is correct. Don't panic if you can't get it quite to 65%. As long as it's 62% or more it's fine.

I have a forced air LG incubator. My first hatch I kept humidity between 55-60%, sometimes a little higher for 1st 18 days, then upped it to 65-75% for hatch. I hatched 16 out of 18 eggs total. The 2 that were not hatched 1 was clear and removed at 10 days and the other one stopped developing very early, around day 5 or 6.
