What I have to protect against coyotes, neighbors' dogs

We have some of those at work. They move well with flock of sheep and goats but grazing needs would conflict with relatively restrictive ranging habits of chickens. To compensate, either chickens would have to be moved to fresh pasture according to needs of donkey, or a lot of feed would have to be brought into what would be essentially a feedlot for donkey.


What breed is that? It looks much darker than our donkeys, almost like a mule.

We have some kinfolk who have one (or more) of those. The braying is enough to drive one bonkers!

I prefer Remington, myself....though Marlin and Browning are also dear acquaintances.

We baby sat 5 for friends who were having their pasture re-worked. They were a little destructive with their curiosity wanting in the coop to taste the chick feed etc but I slept better at night knowing they had bedded down by the coop and we have a pack of coyotes that pass by quite often.

She is a Standard Donkey. I have it set up where my Donkey and cows cannot get to the chickens' feed in the 4 coops but chickens free range with them during the day. Pasture horseshoes around my place so the system works well. The chickens are great at turning the manure in the pasture. In fact, my pasture has improved with chickens foraging with my Donkey & cows. The chickens pick flies off the cows.
