I'm planning on putting a poop board with plenty of roosting space for everyone along the north wall. The south wall however will have two nice sized windows. After reading here about chickens liking to sit in front of the windows I'm thinking about putting one roost in front of the windows. It wouldn't be enough room for all of them though and no room for a poop board there. Also, I didn't know if it was a good idea since there might be drafts coming in the windows. What do ya'll think?

To me, it would depend on what type of window you have. My window is a like a house window - double paned and really nice. When I shut it, no drafts...however, I do have vents above my current roost poles and I don't have a problem. Personally, I think it would be ok as long as the window is secure at night.

They do like looking out of their stained glass window (garage sale find). We live in a temperate climate and one side of the henhouse has a 2'x4' hardware cloth (wire) open window for ventilation. As long as there is no cross draft you should be fine. Chickens are incredibly durable!
