what does EE stand for? im new to this...hubby isnt, he used to show his...did quite well...anyways...im new to this and ive never actually SEEN chooks "do it" so i have all sorts of images go through my head...plus it doesnt help with the odd way my partner explains it and tries to ...erm...show me in the air...kinda homer simson style in that ep. when he was explaining "stuff" to his kids...dunno how much detail i can write as i know this is a family orientated site and i dont wanna say the wrong thing accidentally! lol anyways putting the idea of a saddle in the mix makes it even more strange to me...but im happy to wait till my chookies grow up to find out! i do want to have some chickies of my own 1day so i guess ill learn then! and ill know what to do if they lose too many feathers too! LOL

EE = easter egger chicken.

Some people, having never seen chicken mating before, think that the rooster is being mean or trying to hurt the hen. He will grab the hen/pullet by the neck to hold her still while he climbs on. If the pullet is not yet ready to be mated she'll raise a big fuss. Once she's mature enough she'll squat and hold still while he gets his job done. Some hens will even hold their wings out for the roo to stand on.
And by the way, the rooster doesn't have the "ut hum" equipment that you would normally think is necessary for this act.
The hen will tuck her tail to one side while the male climbs up onto her back or gets close to her.
Their cloacas are pressed together and the sperm moves from the male to the female. This act is called a cloacal kiss.
It's over in five seconds, literally.

lol think ill wait...hahaha thanks for the explination though! very detailed! lol
