I have had tons of chickens over the years and finally think I'm ready to try to reproduce chickens. I want to get some good show quality silkies and don't know where to get them. Does anyone know of a good breeder that has some? Thanks.

I can't help you with the answer, but you may get better responses if you can say what area of the country you are in and what specific type you are looking for?

Top hats? Standard? Frizzle? Bearded?

Usually your local poultry swap has indication of who is in the area. I would also look at the local 4H groups and poultry exhibitions.

Check with local Silkie organizations too.

A good breeder will be eager to tell you and SHOW you the quality of their birds. They may not appreciate you handling them for biosecurity reasons, but they will have lots of photos and information about the quality of their birds.

Hopefully some Silkie breeders will be stepping in to give you some guidance.
