Ok so I’m interested in starting myself a show flock and getting into the world of poultry exhibition. Does anybody have breed recommendations for my first show flock.

I’m thinking something like a white Wyandotte
That sounds like a great idea! But hold the white!
White can be hard for beginners to show. I would recommend black instead, probably the easiest color around. Buffs can be easy to breed also, though they haven’t been bred to the quality of the blacks and whites.
I would also recommend getting bantams. They are easier to manage and bred to a higher refinement than the LF. Many people starting up in showing will get bantams, especially Wyandottes.
Of course, you can pick whichever breed you want, and if you’ve already gotten in picked, there’s no reason to ask. But a black Wyandotte bantam is a good choice for a new exhibitor. They are low maintenance and mellow.
The only issues I’ve found with them is they have very low fertility.
