Hello everyone, I am looking for a good incubator that is reasonable. I do not like the Styrofoam ones. Self turn. I would like for it to have automatic turner, day counter with right humidity reading and alarms with auto temperature.
I just set 19 eggs with 1 successful hatch. Two didnt make it out of shell. One which my husband did help died within 30 minutes.. any and all recommendations will be very much appreciated... thanks in advance!!! Lorie Jackson ✝️

I can't recommend an incubator, since both of mine are home made. I've had 90+% hatch rate from them after discounting the infertile ones. However, the best advice I can give you is to calibrate your thermometers to 100* using a good medical grade thermometer as your gold standard. Calibrate your hygrometer, and read ALL of hatching eggs 101 in the learning center before plugging any incubator in.

Where did you get your eggs from? If they were shipped, I strongly suggest that you start with local eggs first, and get your hatching technique perfected before trying shipped eggs.

If from your own flock, condition your birds first by feeding them good quality feed which is fresh (less than 6 weeks past mill date) with protein around 18%. Add a good multi vitamin to their regimen for at least 2 weeks before you start to collect eggs. Utilize all the info from the HE101 article, and you should have a good hatch.
