Kind new to being a chicken raiser. What is better layer crumbles or layer pellets? My chicken went to the coop a few weeks haven't started laying get and was wondering which feed would be better? Thanks in advance!!!

I use the crumble because it fits in the mouth better of most of my smaller birds and the larger ones (I keep them all together) have no problems with it :3

I prefer the pellets because my large fowl birds seem to waste some of the crumbles. They do not go through so much feed when I use the pellets. Plus, if they do rake some out of the feeder, they clean it up more easily in pellet form. I can see where smaller birds might prefer the crumbles.

Great question! Both are great options and it really depends on preference. Crumbles are simply broken pellets that are easier for poultry to eat and are often a good choice for recently hatched chicks. People have noticed less waste when feeding pellets, once chickens have adjusted to eating them.

i prefer crumbles

to reduce waste-- just use the feeder with dividers + elevate it to the level of the chickens' back
