I have read about the uses for it, sounds great but is it actually called DE or does it stand for something? Thanks

The "DE" that you keep reading about is food grade diatomaceous earth. The most common brand of food grade DE is Perma-Guard. It's awesome stuff!

I'm new to Chickies...
Where do you buy DE? Is it a feed store thing, Co-op or Hardware store item? Or where would you get the best price for the best product? I understand store names would be different depending on where you live but I'm looking for a starting point. Thanks All.

Here is a link where I found it the cheapest.

You will probably have a hard finding it locally. At least I did, and I live in farm country. One of our local grain companies carries it but it is 64.00 for 25 pounds. Another place could get it for me at 87.00 for 50# Most places I called did not even know what I was talking about.

Earth Work carries it for 27.50 for 50 pounds! plus shipping but since you are in Colorado and it ships from Nebraska it shouldn't cost you a lot for shipping. You can get it in smaller quantities if you want.

Make sure you watch the video this company has. There is a link on their site I think.
