Ok so here is a little back story...in march we got 33 chicks from TSC we never lost any after the first 2 days...in may we got 24 chicks from a local hatchery called poultry hollow that we will NEVER go back to...it was a horrible place lets just say we shouldn't have bought any chicks there! any way the first death of the poultry hollow chicks was when they were 6 days old ...I had never lost a chicken that old but we just summed it up as a normal chick death and may very well have been just that...up until 5 weeks ago we had only lost 2 chicks out of 57..on july 24 I found a barred rock pullet at that time the poultry hollow bunch was 12 weeks and the TSC bunch was 19 weeks..any way I found a barred rock pullet unable to walk or stand..she just laid on her side and when she would try to move she would just flop around and mostly just stay in one spot but sometimes she could move a little bit forward by kind of doing "The Worm" type movement...we let her live for 2 days and saw that she was not getting any better and was just laying in her poop so we shot her and buried her...then 2 weeks later august 7th another pullet a black australorp did the same thing as the barred rock but this time 2 days before she got paralyzed I saw her standing up with her eyes closed in the coop while the others were outside...then 5 days after the black australorp died a light brahma pullet died during the night she was also standing up sleeping with her head tucked in the day before..I did not see the light brahma get paralyzed but I did not see her during the night I just found her the next morning...and that is how the last 2 have died also the 4th to die was a speckled sussex pullet she did the exact same thing as the light brahma slept standing up with her head tucked in and then this morning I found another light brahma pullet dead in the coop just like the last 3 she slept all day the day before with her head tucked in...except this time we did a fast necropsy we just looked at the liver mostly...we were looking for yellow spots on the liver that are associated with marek's...here are some pics let me know if you can see anything abnormal.

the head is at the top..we did not take anything out we just cut her open and looked

ok the green thing is attached to the liver...it is like it is just part of the liver

now her head is the the right of the pic Iwas tring to show a tiny littler whiteish spot on her liver...it showed up on the camera but the shine is kind of blocking it...I can see it but I know here it is in the middle on the pic...and I thin that is her heart to the right of the liver...does it look normal?

another pic of her liver a heart head is to the left.

also all of the chickens from TSC are still very healthy and I have never had any problem with them...it is only the chickens from poultry hollow that are dying.

So sorry to hear about your chickens. I believe the green thing is the gall bladder. Do you have access to a state run animal health lab that would perform a thorough necropsy?

I know I have read the reviews...and they are a very bad hatchery!!! I have seen it with my own eyes

yes but not sure how much they charge or how we would get the chicken there because the closest place that does necropsies is 60-70 miles away
