I have 4 nine month old ducks. All have drake feathers, all sound like drakes, I was certain they were drakes. The smallest one has been getting mounted a lot and the dominant male has been aggressive but I thought it was just normal aggression, because that one's always been a jerk. But today my son's favorite (a crested fawn pekin) went missing. Looked everywhere. I found it when I was feeding the chickens, sitting on top of eggs behind the chicken feed bin.

Can females have drake feathers?? Also, aren't they supposed to start laying closer to 6 months?

Different birds mature at different rates like people. But now that you know, you'll want to seperate the female from males
Yea I let them free range because "they were all males" so I guess I'll have to build a run for the females.

Are you sure they were not chicken eggs?

Figured it out. Finally got annoyed by this enough to move the feed bin and see if he was actually going on. Nope. The dummy must have chased the hen that was nesting there away and managed to get himself stuck on top of the eggs. Gave himself angel wing in the process. I swear if they didn't manage to be cute at times all four of these monsters would have been in the pot a long time ago.
