This is Joseph. I bought him at the feed store, and was told that he was half bantam cochin.

No clue as to how old he is (I forgot to ask:( ) He already crows, and runs like hades from my Frizzle Polish Roo (King Nanner, who I think is 9 months old and a bully)

The day after this picture Nanner ambushed Joseph and yanked his longest feather out. Needless to say I chased Nanner clear over 5 acres, which now causes Joseph to run towards me, if Nanner is a jerk. I also have 2 other free range LARGE roos, that Nanner pretty much doesn't pay attention to at all, he only seems to try and torment poor Joseph.

Thanks for any help with figuring out what Joseph's other half may be.

Wow... that is a tough one,

he could have a little Faverolle in him or some SLW.

or some Silver Duckwing OEG

Whatever is in there, it's got Duckwing. And MAN is that a gorgeous color he's donning! It looks quite similar to a lot of EE roosters.

Do you know anything more about the bantam cochin half? How many toes does he have? With all that going on he is gorgeous

but I would think that he has more than two breeds in the mix.

I never counted his toes. I tend to forget he has any, since I can't see them under the feathers. I'll do that tomorrow!

Joseph did not like being cornered at all....

But after fliping him over and moving all those feathers...he has three long toes and a short one in the rear. His legs are yellow under the feathers as well
