I have an order coming in may, and I requested two roos for each breed (except buff orpingtons, they weren't offerering those sexed) and I'm wondering if I really only need one. Could I safely breed off just one rooster and be able to replenish my flock? Or would it be a good idea to have two of each, especially since I'm going to be wanting to sell hatching eggs and chicks???? Also, how does linebreeding work if I have one roo and if I have two??? Thanks!!!

yes you can just run 1 roo with your hens.an raise chicks from them.an breed them back to the same roo.

so would people still want to buy hatching eggs and chicks from just one roo????

Yes, I think they would. A lot of people who sell hatching eggs have only one roo and line breed. People who buy eggs have the choice of doing sibling mating or buying eggs from more than one source.
