What is my duck

This is my son's duck, bill I know the name is well I want say it. Can u tell us what kind of duck it is. it stands real tall when it walks. It towers over the other duck and chicks. It's bill is black as coal and the rest of it is to. What do y'all think?

Depends on the genetics and diet they eat they grow up fast and run faster then normal

Yep that's a Black Indian Runner, and no they are not a big duck. They are (or should be) very slender, only about 4.5 pounds fully grown. Spend as much time with it as you can as they can be a nervous breed. My sister's runners are little sweet hearts. Pretty good egg layers too, often laying blue or green tinted eggs.
