What is the best feed to start newly hatched BW???

A gamebird starter food is best. Quail need a feed with very high protein level. You can get it at most feed stores.

I ground up the feed for my newly hatched babies for the first week or two as the crumbles were a bit big for them. You can even sift thru the crumbles to get the finer stuff that tends to settle. Full grown Bobwhites have trouble with large food. I see mine pick up large crumbles or seeds, and to this day they will spit them out as they are too big.
