I got polish and gold tops as chicks in September last year with some silkie chicks but silkie chicks turned out cross breeds so breeder replaced them at 7 weeks in with 1 wk old silkie chicks which I’ve kept separate since (I’m in uk) I started first beginning of March to get them used to a hour or two outside then put them in a run next to them for a few weeks on suitable days but now I have couple of silkies gone broody and a gold top broody n my daughter put a few duck eggs under her 🤦🏽‍♀️ Can I safely move to next stage and mix them (in a new run and shed/coop) safely-apart from the gold top with duck eggs of course,I’m worried broody silkies might be aggressive, any advice would be appreciated ♥️

It sounds as if the birds are grown and been near each other over a month. Yes they can be integrated. Always provide hiding places that are not traps when mixing birds. Are the broody silkies setting where you are putting the birds?

I put them in a few at a time first the polish girls then gold tops in at bedtime 👍 it went very well, the rooster I introduced next morning as he is brought in house in a cat box at night (to keep neighbors happy) and went well but they all stopped being broody so the one on eggs I put in with rest and put eggs in a incubator, I think having a very long introduction next to each other helped them mix so well,I’m just so happy that they are together like they were supposed to be, there egg laying has been interrupted slightly but nothing dramatic xxx
