I thought the eggs needed humidity to develope, and the chicks needed
it to keep from sticking to the shell?

I'm trying it for the first time, and I'm loving it. But the humidity in THE ROOM where my bators are stays between 55-60%, and my bators are staying between 30-40% without water in them. So far, in one bator, I've got 23 out of 25 eggs developing. My best ever. Good luck if you try it.

Thanks Beefy. That was a well written article with a ton of information.
This kind of sharing is what makes the BYC so good.

ah,... perhaps someday I'll get a bator, until then, I'll dream.

I dry incubate and have great hatch rates, and that site is awesome to help understand it !! Good luck.
