Had to restock on pine shavings today and of course I drove 30 minutes out of the way to the only feed store in the area selling chicks. ;) DH knew I couldn't come home empty-handed. It's an addiction, I'm sure you know. Lol.
Anyways, I picked up this little bantam that was in with some golden sebrights (which I already have). It looks very white in person with just the SLIGHTEST blue/grey tint to it (back, head stripe, around eyes) and the feathers growing out on its wings are a beautiful sky-blue. It has feathered legs. 4 toes. What looks like probably a single comb, but its still teeny tiny. Sometimes I think it has a muff, but sometimes I don't. If it does, it's barely-there.
I love these "what's-it?" puzzles and have tried figuring it out myself (was leaning towards splash Cochin??) before I came down with a killer migraine. So I'll let you lovely chicken-folk help me out with this one.
Cochin?? D'uccle?? Langshan?? Sump'n else?? Color?

ALSO, I picked up two of these little cuties. (This is just one, but besides a tiny bit more facial markings on one, they're identical.) They were labeled silver-laced wyandottes and that's what all the employees were calling them. Wyandotte, I believe. But they are gold-laced, amiright?

cant be a langshan.. they only come in blue or black. D'uccles, I have no experience with, but that color doesn't seem right to me either. My best guess would be a cochin of some kind... I'm going to guess it'll end up being white with black or maybe even blue somewhere. perhaps it'll be splash, or even lavender. who knows. :) but the mystery is the fun part, in my opinion.

And you are right, that wyandotte is definitely golden-laced, not silver. there is no mistaking it.

Hm. I was sure langshans came in white, too. But who am I kiddin', I wouldn't get something so spiffy in my area anyways. :p
I agree, the mystery is the fun part! I still have 6 week old ducks that I'm unsure of and am in no hurry to figure them out. :)
Thanks for your input! Anyone else care to wager a guess for funsies? :D

I'm now leaning towards Porcelain D'Uccle, in which case I'm running back tomorrow to grab the one I left behind. o____o
Can anyone talk me out of this conclusion? Cochin?

No more guesses then, eh? I'll just cross my fingers for d'uccle, wouldn't be disappointed with Cochin, though. Pfft, wouldn't really be disappointed with anything.
To the feed store, away! Hehehehe.
