This mess came out of my 4 1/2 year old red sex link hen Rosie. Over the past 2 years she has had hormone implants to suppress laying eggs since she has been having laying issues. This latest implant is wearing off and she has an appointment for her next implant in 2 weeks (that’s the soonest the vet could do). She laid a shell- less egg about 1.5 weeks ago and has been in the nest box twice over the past week without producing anything. She had watery stool yesterday and this morning I found this below her roost. It had the consistency of egg white, kind of gelatinous with blood, and some watery and green stool under it. I have a call into the vet and am waiting to hear back but just wondering if anyone has experienced this and what it may mean? She’s acting pretty normal but appetite is a bit decreased. Her abdomen doesn’t feel bloated. I have Bactrim from her last bout with salpingitis which I have started her on while waiting to hear from vet.

It would be heard to know exactly what caused the bleeding. Can you see any blood on her vent or evidence of pecking injury? She might have some internal bleeding from a reproductive issue, worms, cociddiosis (which normally is seen in very young birds,) from swallowing something sharp that has cut something inside, or even fatty liver disease. I would watch for more evidence of bleeding, and possibly take in some fresh droppings for a fecal float to the vet.
