I have a BO who has a poopy fluff butt, so I trimmed it to open her vent. She seemed fine, but then I came home to this. It looks like an unformed egg, it was stringy and I had to pull it out and manually palpate some out. It's not a worm. Any thoughts/ideas? The rest of the flock is great. Thanks!

That appears to be a collapsed egg membrane. She may have had an egg break inside (probably a shell-less egg) or it may have just been a membrane discharged down the oviduct pathway. I wouldn't do anything about it except may be make sure that she is getting extra calcium in crushed oyster shell free fed, and a good layer feed. Soft eggs can be very common in new layers.

I'm thinking she may at the bottom of the totem pole, not getting good access to feed, they get all the things they need. I'll keep an eye on her and see how she does. I appreciate all of the info!
