What Is This Thing? Thought Grape By The Leaves, Then "Fruit" (NEW PICS post 13)

With the new photos I'm just about certain it's a "Southern Home." Could be another hybrid as well, but that's the only one I know of with leaves like that. Do a Google image search and I bet you'd find some decent photos.

Thank you so much! The shape of the fruit was really throwing me off big time! Awesome! So, I didn't waste my time leaving up on the fence for over ten years, LOL.

I can't wait for it to ripen. I'll go Google it now. I knew someone would be able to tell me what this was.

You were right! They are finally turning now. Sorry about my camera-the close up focus isn't working so well anymore, but you get the idea.

And what about this one? These two are the only ones on this vine, rescued from the same vineyard that was being turned into a subdivision. Are these going to be those big bronze looking muscadines, you think?

ETA: We tasted one since it was getting soft. Wow, very sweet, but completely different than the Southern Home or the other variety. Seems we have three varieties of muscadine on that back fence. Will probably have to separate them. All three are so different, in looks as well as taste.

Hen,

This site may help with your ID. http://www.ces.ncsu.edu/muscadines/muscadine/cultivars.html

Not sure if you know but to get a lot of fruit you need to prune the grapes when they are dormant. It is very easy to do though if you haven't up till now you will have a bit of a job on your hands. The muscadines grow fast and should fruit quite well their second year so at ten years you should be buried in grapes:)

Thanks, Wills. We do have some pruning to do, yep. DH has done some pruning already in the past, but since we have three different varieties, may want to separate them more fully somehow by adjusting the fencing they're growing on.
