What is this white covering on the egg?

We have been getting these strange white covered eggs from our less than year old golden laced wyandotte hen. The white on them has been increasing until now it covers the whole egg. What can cause this? She often times also has a red blood spot in her eggs which concerns me.

The red spot in the egg is a blood spot. Eggs from the store are candled to eliminate that before sold. As far as the white on the egg. I believe that is extra calcium, but not sure on that or what actually causes that.

It doesn't wash off, but you can scratch it off.

I was thinking it might be calcium.

It doesn't wash off, but you can scratch it off.

Must be calcium then, bloom would wash off, I think.

I get that every now and then and honestly - never thought to ask. Taste just as good though! Calcium makes sense I reckon.
