So, I just noticed this on my Brahma rooster today, first thought was.. Oh adolescence (never had a brahma before) then realized it's only on 1 side of his head! He's about 5 months old.
Too late for the vet today. Anyone have any advice?
Ear Infection?
Canker?
I'm in the UK.

Does it feel hard or soft? Can you compare it with the other side and find his ear canal? It may be from scratching, but also could be a cyst or tumor. Take a picture of the other ear and post.

Here's the other side of his head. As normal

I would use a QTip and look for any gunk or mites in the ear canal. Could he have gotten stung?
I don't think so, I haven't seen any wasps or bees for weeks.
I've never looked in their ears 😳

Can you look in either ear for the opening? Tell us if you can find it. It is possible he was pecked there causing the swelling, but I would worry about a tumor.
That's what I thought too 🤔
