Can anyone please tell me what this looks like under the chin? White build up of some kind? I just got these birds.

Is it anywhere else, or just there? Is it attached to the feathers or skin? What kind of substance ... hard, soft, flakey, does it come off or fall off? Could it be favus? check out these links...

Feather louse eggs. They like the puffy check and chin feathers and around the bum area too.

They need to be sprayed for lice. I recommend permetherin spray.
