What is this??

A cross of some sort [very pretty]. Probably either some Sumatra or some Phoenix judging from the length of the tail

Yes, she is a lovely bird. I sadly learned today that she is a Sumatra mix, not sure what the other half is, but she was bred for fighting.

I had no idea when an aquaintence gave her to me. All of the other chickens have been rescued and Lil Grey gets to stay with us. The person who breeds them is in BIG trouble!! At least we know that she will be loved and never used to fight.

I didn't think Hens were used to fight either until the police man who was asking were I got my bird showed me the 'basement' where they hide the birds... it was more of a hole in the ground.
From what I gathered they train select hens to fight if their rooster looses. She's very calm and happy bird. But we also got her when she was very small, and my five year old used to walk around the house holding her like a baby and petting her, so she never got the chance to be mean!
