(This is the best picture I could get of her eye because they won’t stay still lol)

My hen has this extra white in the corner of her eye. I have dealt with respiratory sickness in my flock before, so I’m wondering if this is respiratory related. She is eating, drinking, and being a normal chicken, so whatever this maybe is not slowing her down. I also noticed a few of my other chicken’s eyes starting to look like this too. I don’t want to treat them if they are all acting fine, but this worries me. I have treated with antibiotics before because of some sneezing and having coughing noises that were clearly respiratory related as I said before, but that was around 2 months ago. I’m not sure what to do, but any advice would be appreciated as to what I should treat her and the others with or just monitor them closely.

Her nictitating membrane is slightly covering a portion of the eye. That's the third eyelid that blinks across the eye from the side nearest the beak over toward the ear. Hold on, I'll tag some Educators and see if they have any ideas why this might be happening.

Thank you. One of them told me to do saline and terramycin, but there wasn’t any improvement with the eye. They are all still acting normal and fine but the eye isn’t better

Where are you located in this wotld? Have you had blowing dust lately? How often have you rinsed with saline and administered the terramycin without improvement? And finally, when did you first notice this and start treating?

@Wyorp Rock is one of our best Educators. She has given you excellent advice. I suggest you have Admin combine your two threads so you can get the best possible advice. At the bottom of one of your posts, see the three little dots? Click that, then click More Options and ask an Admin to combine your threads. Good luck!

I am located in the United States in Mississippi. There hasn’t been any dust or enough to matter in my area, however the heat has been pretty bad where I live. I have done the saline and terramycin for about a week so far everyday. Does this normally take longer to see improvements? I noticed her eye was like this 2 weeks ago, she is fine other than her eye being like this.

Sorry, I don't know anything about this. Can't help you. I'm not an Educator. I just knew enough to know you needed an Educator to help you, and then I saw from your other thread that you already had one working with you. Listen to her. She's very wise and experienced, one of our very best. Good night.
