Three days ago one of my six week old chicks started acting lethargic and wanted to sleep all the time. He is more vocal and a little wabbaly. He has electrolytes in his water and is eating and drinking just fine. I have given him eggs and beef liver as a supplement worried it was a vitamin deficiency but today I noticed his poop was off.

Pics of poop and chick would be helpful.

-How was the poop "off"?
-What are they fed?
-Are they still in a brooder or outside/in a coop?
-Do you have other, older chickens?
-Where did you get the chicks? Hatchery? Feed store? Local farm? Hatched yourself?
-How many other chicks are in the group?

Do they have a second waterer with plain water too? If you give electrolyte water they have to have a source of plain water too or they can have issues

Coccidiosis could be the problem.
Giving it treats is not a good idea. Chick feed only would be best.

Get Corid.

This is a pic of the poop today. All of this other poops look healthy.

All chickens are outside in coop and fenced in. They are all on crumble still non medicated.

-tractor supply bunch
-all chicks but this one is out in a coop fenced in.

- he is less wobbly today. Still vocal. Eating and drinking good. One strange poop but all others after have looked good.

Sorry this is the first time I have used this cite and I am still trying to figure out how to upload things and reply to people.

I agree with LaFleche that the poop looks like coccidiosis poop.

You can get Corid at Tractor Supply.

Corid dosage is 2tsp (10mL) of liquid Corid per gallon of water for 5 - 7 days.

Fresh Corid water needs to be made daily, so if you're using 1 quart chick waterers, it would be 1/2 tsp (2.5 mL) of liquid Corid per quart of water. This Corid water should be the only source of water the chicks have access to (and you should treat ALL the chicks).

Be sure not to give them any vitamins during treatment as it could make the Corid ineffective (it is recommended to give them vitamins - like NutriDrench - AFTER treatment).

Keep us posted!

Update,

He did a five day Corid treatment and is now on day three of NutriDrench. I have noticed very little improvement in his condition. He is curling his feet and still having a hard time balancing. Any advice?
