MY CHICKS ARE HATCHING AND MY BATOR JUST SPIKED TO 106 IT WAS 101 TEN MINUETS AGO WHEN I LEFT THE ROOM I HAD TO TAKE THE LID OFF TO COOL IT DOWN LOSEING PRECIOUS HUMIDITY WHAT IS BETTER COOLING THE BATOR OR KEEPING IT HUMID

thats correct it would be body heat. Lose the humidity you have to get the temp down, add a sponge or something while its open to help regain the humidity you need

I always add a wet paper towel to the bator when the first chick hatches. I do this because I find if physically impossible to leave the bator close until every chick is hatched.

It works well for me.
