What is wrong with this chicken?? I need help. He has blood at base of feathers.

The chicken has blood at the base of his feathers and doesn’t seem to be gaining weight. He is also losing weight.

He appears to be molting- sometimes if a pin feather breaks, it will bleed a bit. Losing weight is normal during molting. My girls are disasters right now! You have nothing to worry about.

Picked pin feathers. For molting hens that get picked, I put hen saddles on them.
