What is Your Favorite Breed of Chicken

Hi everyone, I was just wondering, what is your fav. breed of chicken? Mine is either Speckled Sussex or Buff Orpington.

According to what you want. Those you mentioned and many more are pretty----I want egg production so I would not choose either of those. I would go with RIR, white leghorns, or sex-links.

Yellow buffs are usually friendly, speckled Sussex can probably be if you spend time and give treats to them.

MY most friendly chicken is my Dominique....but that is not really saying much because all my girls are very very friendly.

I guess I should add that I think any chick can be raised to be friendly....IMO

My favorite is black copper marans. I like dark eggs, I believe that this breed will always be popular. Other breeds will go in in out of style while the BCM dark eggs will always be desired.

Yes we hatch them in our house . So they are around us everyvday from day one. My wife talks to the eggs while they are hatching, they know here voice as soon as they hatch. I know it sounds crazy but it seems to work on all breeds.

I have a variety of girls, I love the egg production but I just love to be around them. I have 2 Buff's, 2 red star's, 1 black star, 2 barred rocks, 3 delaware's. and btw they are extremely spoiled!
