What is your opinion?

I know what is the recommended (many, actually) percentages of humidity for an incubator. I would like to know what you all usually shoot for, and what you raise up to for lockdown. This is my first incubation with a hygrometer, and am interested in trying to raise and lower the humidity. Thanks!

Same situation with me- I've kept it around 30%, which I'm sure is considered pretty low, and wondering what I should bump it up to for lockdown today. I hear about 50% the first 17 days and about 70% on lockdown though.

I have a Genesis 1588 hovabator and a brinsea octogon 20.

I try to keep the humidity above 25% and below 35% for days 1-18

I try to keep it between 63% and 66% for lockdown.

I had a good hatch last time with those numbers.

I keep them with no water for the 18 days. Whats the humidity? Haven't got a clue, LOW.
The last 3 days I keep it about 70 to 75%.

I do all my hatches live on the web an I think I do ok.

I've had decent hatches like this.. But it may not work for you, really the answers to this question will vary. Different things work for different people and many times a range of things will work also.

For my first 2 hatches, I tried the 'dry' incubation method (above 25%, lower then 35%) and not opening the bator at all during lockdown/hatching. 1st batch was a bust 0/13. 2nd batch I got 1/13.

The 3rd batch that hatched a couple days ago, I upped the humidity (like to 50-55%) during incubating and I opened the bator constantly to spritz water in there, rewet sponges, etc during lockdown and especially during hatching (70-75%). I got 4/5. The last one was fully formed like the hatchlings, but its head was pointed at the little end.

So this next batch EDD 3/30, Im not using the dry method.
