what just happened to my duck?!?!?!

My duckling has been "off" sincet hey day we brought it home..I thought just a cold so treated him and seemed better but still just not like the rest...he didn't act like the others but ate and drank fine. They were all getting plenty of vitamins and minerals. He wasn't feathering out like the others either. Today he suddenly threw his head back and everything went downhill from there. He eventually died after not being able to stand without flopping over and stretching out and relaxing and still had hos neck stretched over..almost as if he was seizing.. I took a video only to show to determine what happened so it doesn't happen to the others.. I'm at a loss. I was hoping he would come out of It but he stretched one last time and died.

My gut says that it had some congenital problem that caused it to seizure or have a heart attack. It does not sound as if it was an infectious entity that might threaten the rest of your flock.

He did have some crusty stuff in his eyes but a few days of tea bags seemed to clear it up but his eyes were never big and bright like the others. Makes me so sad I had gotten really attached constantly checking on him..

Oh no, that's too bad. It sounds like there was just something wrong with his system from the start. Maybe he had trouble hatching from the egg; sometimes if they stay inside too long it causes problems.
