Yesterday or last night something killed all 4 of my hens, I’ve had chickens for years, losing to hawks mostly, had these girls for 2 and 6 years with no incidents. My dog has been on patrol for the last 7. I have a kennel, had to have happened after i fed and I left, leaving them to free range. Then they go in coup at. Night. I came home all were dead, 2- buried. With smooth markings of moved dirt almost like it was patted down. These were orpingtons and pretty heavy. When I look at my ring camera only the dog motions the camera, so one shot nothing the next there’s a chicken in the shot. So it couldn’t have been the dog. Plus seven years she’s never hurt the girls. Also one chicken is buried in a spot pretty narrow she couldn’t have reached. Oh and my two ducks not hurt at all. Any ideas what would kill then bury? Not covering chicken all the way? I thought I heard a cat, but these are big chickens?

Perhaps a bobcat. Whatever it was will return and give a try at your ducks. Protect them.
I had my dog was inside couldn’t get out. She usually keeps anything from coming in. I’m in an old part of town, county island, don’t think bobcats, foxes we have and racoons. Have you ever heard of them burying their kill?
