My young birds are 9 weeks old and now in the run wire fenced off in a section with a temporary coop so they can get used to the changing weather and get to know the established flock. The run is covered 3/4 of the way with a roof. 4 of my 8 young birds has somehow gotten over the divider. When I walked into the run the dead hen was on the ground near the open part of the run. The carcus was picked clean to the bone and one of the legs was missing. Is there any way the flock did that? The young birds have been in the run for a little over two weeks. If it was a hawk, it would've had a very small area to fly into the run. I don't think there's anyway it was a land critter....no trees near the run, no holes dug under the run, walls of run are too high to get on the roof and I have electric wire running around the top.
