What killed the chickens?

Good Morning every one

I came home to having 7 chickens killed .

I live in Indiana.
Came home with the 7 chickens dead in the fenced in area. Only with the heads gone.

it rained the night before so the ground was soft and still wet, there where no tracks. No openings in the fence. nothing dug under.

What ever it was got some of my young ( about 5 months) to some older chickens. it even got one of my large roosters about 7-8 months he was a big bird.

What ever it was tried dragging about 4 of them into a small opening under the chicken coop.

I don't understand how it left no tracks, no fur NOTHING to figure out what it was! There where not even feathers everywhere. So what ever it was left no signs of much of a struggle.

Thanks to anyone with a idea of what we are dealing with!

I think I've heard that weasels go for their heads and kill everything. Sorry for your losses.

Either a weasel or a hawk. There is a hawk near where I live that only eats the chicken's head after it kills it.

Probably weasel...I am just north of Nashville on the Ky line and dealing with a Fishers Cat, a nasty weasel that is killing my chickens the same way. It doesn't touch the bodies, just takes heads. Truly a disgusting animal and very vicious.

Hope you get whatever is killing yours.

Hope I catch or kill this thing soon also.
