What kills during the mid day and eats only the head?

I have read through most of the predator articles and didn't find anything that kills during the day and eats only
the Head. first I would like to say my Henrietta was a blind chicken and she was a free range along with 2 roosters and 2 other hens
my less dominant rooster would watch and help Henrietta. she was missing today around 3 but remembered my rooster
squaking around 2o where I found my Henrietta. so thats when it must of happened, what would kill in mid sunny afternoon.
would a opossum kill during the day?"

i know of a hawk who would take just the head.he would rip it off and fly away with it.he would come back later for the rest when there was nothing else around.so that could be your predator.

I am so sorry! I have heard feral cats will do that too... but i wouldn't think they'd do it with those roosters there

Weasels and mink tear off the head and drink the blood.

Weasels will hunt at any time. Weasels will take the head and/or bleed them out and drink the blood. My vote goes for weasel.
