What kind of chicks did tractor supply just sell me???

They are Leghorns. They come from Privett Hatchery. They are blue gold duckwing in color. Privett of course came up with a fancier name for them because marketing.

Where are you located? Me and the Leghorn expert (that has had this color long before Privett thought of it) have a theory going as to where they're available this year.

Also, welcome to BYC!
How cool!! I wouldn’t have expected tractor supply to carry a bird like that. I got these in Adkins, TX at tractor supply of course.
What is the theory if you don’t mind me asking???
Is it odd that they are selling this color of a bird? The hatchery that is?

So far we are only seeing them come from TSCs in and around NM (where Privett Hatchery is located). So you being in TX goes with our theory that they're only releasing them somewhat locally.

Not odd, but not common at all with Leghorns. In fact, it was a surprise to see. We knew it was just a matter of time before hatcheries started creating more colors.

Here is a thread with all sorts of Leghorn colors you've likely never seen nor heard of. Feel free to poke around!

They are indeed the blue breasted brown leghorns and soo excited we got a handsome rooster in our bunch!
