what kind of chicks do i have and how old are they?

I'm stumped. If they had more grey on the head I would guess Delawares. If there was dark other than the wings, maybe White Orpingtons, Columbian Wyandottes, White Giants.

If I had to bet money I would say Delaware, I guess.

How were they labeled at the hardware store? Do you know if they're bantam or standard sized? Were they labeled as egg-layers? Pullets?

They sure are cute, whatever they are! Looks like your kids are having a great time.

My daughter and I are going to also guess Delaware. They lookl an awful lot like my Light Brahma chick, but
without feathered feet. Brahma - feathered feet =
Delaware

We think? We are new and just giving are best guess.

hmmm, this is a mystery!

i went back to the hardware store and there was a sign on the chick cage that said 'New Hampshire Reds.' but i just googled that and i really don't know if that could be right.

delawares, huh? okay, off to google that.

Oh, yeah, I guess they could be NHReds... they get black wingtips sometimes I think. I'd expect the chicks to be a more golden color if NHRs, yours seem very light, almost white... but I certainly wouldn't rule it out!
