Thank you for your replies!! I love this site........
Today we placed 1 inch chicken wire on the inside of the coop and up the walls about 6 inches. My neighbor who is 75 yrs old and self proclaimed "chicken expert" said that this is the best for keeping predators out. She said that this is what Martha Stewart does in her coop. I then placed dirt on top of the wire and then pine shavings.
My coop is 8x 5 and I have 11 hens and one turkey. Does this sound big enough? I also cut an old wooden ladder in half and placed it standing up at an angle for roots. We attached some drift wood that we found at the river.
My chickens are still in the garage. We have a large wooden box that is 4 ft by 4ft sq. I have some drift wood in there that they love for hanging out on.
