I was planning on using the regular roll kind used in a house. I've already bought it, but it can be returned. Is it harmful in any way to the chickens? Is is a problem for some other reason?

I think as long as it is totally enclosed so the chickens cannot peck at it, you should be fine. I used some Dow Thermax panels I found on CL. They're easy to cut to fit small spaces.

Yes, it would be inside the wall (like a house). I'm not sure what we will cover w/ yet. I see some people use door skins to cover. Is the Dow Thermax panels what you used to cover the insulation?

Actually THIS is what I used for insulation between studs and I covered it with scrap pieces of 1/4" wood paneling recovered from a dumpster. I still have some exposed in this picture that the chickens cannot reach yet that I'll cover when I can find some more free paneling.

Thanks
