What kind of snake is this

It's a little hard for me to see the photo real well, but I suspect a rat snake. The head does not look triangular, so not a copperhead. That pattern does not look right for a copperhead anyway. It's long and slender too which generally means not poisonous. You might try Googling rat snake images and see of that fits.

It would help to know what State the snake is in.

I agree. Looks like a gray rat snake. What geographic region are you in? May help to ID.

It was found in my cabin in Grayling MI.. That is the Norther Lower Peninsula.

Thank you all.. I thought it was someones pet that got lose as I have never seen this type of snake up there.
