Hi! I have decided to join BackyardChickens because I LOVE following them on facebook.

I enjoy all the knowledge I have found here. And I am looking forward to knowing others

who enjoy hearing about my chickens, as my family and friends are tired of it. So please

tell me a little about your flock. I love pictures. We have 11 chickens right now, and 12

eggs in the incubator. We have a silver laced wyandotte, 2 blue laced reds, a french black

coper marans who lays beautiful chocloate colored eggs. We have 2 slow white broilers

that we didn't have the heart to butcher, a black astrolorp, a silver campine, two lavender

ameraucanas and a little white frizzle named Lucy. Hence my screen name.

Welcome to Backyard Chickens, glad you joined the flock

Welcome to BYC! Glad you decided to join our flock. You have a nice mixed flock. Black Australorps are my favorite standard breed. I've raised them for years and they are extremely hardy, calm and gentle (my children, and now my granddaughter made lap pets of them), and excellent layers of large, brown eggs. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your flock.

Thank you. We love our austrolorp as well. Very kind and one of our smartest birds. We call her Opal :)
