:old Durn fool critters.

What scum of the earth left these on top of the coop? I'm assuming either raccoon or possum.

I'm gonna say opossum.
I had a possum try to grab one of my hens after she got locked out of the coop, so they're a bit of an issue here. I'm gonna remove feed at night, etc. and put some garlic out to try to deter them.

Too bad it's illegal to 🔫 them at night in Louisiana. I won't harm most animals, but anything that comes after my chickens is gonna get it.

I'm thinking coon. If you have a camera, put it up because most likely whatever it is will be back. I have several cameras up around on my property and hardly a night goes by without something. Most predators have routes and routines. I have seen the same predators often on my cameras. They can be identified by markings and injuries. Good luck...

I can't identify the tracks, but it could even be a domestic cat as near as I can tell.

Whenever we find a nosy animal (opossums usually), we live trap them in a no-kill trap, then relocate them to the forest. We've done that a dozen times or more just in the last 5 years.

We are rural on a dead end road and have been the recipients of others relocations. Here it's illegal unless you get the property owners permission but most don't. There are wildlife rehabs that have relocation areas.
