I have a one year old Buff Orpington hen that I care deeply about who had something wring with one of her eyes about a week ago, we separated her from her duck companions and treated with optical vetericin, her eye got better with the exception of very slight inflammation to the lower eyelid so we let her go back outside to free range and stay in the coop. She had stopped laying at this point and was acting broody when she initially had the eye injury, by the time we let her back outside she was showing little interest in her feed but wanted to forage instead (or eat greens when offered or cooked eggs)and would still drink, she's been like that for a week. A few days after we had put her back out we noticed bloody droppings so we brought her back inside and have treated with Corrid now for 6 days, droppings are no longer bloody but still runny and appearing to have more white in them while on Corrid. At about day three of Corrid I noticed her shaking her head alot and that she was also gaping at night . Her crop seemed swollen so I massaged it for two days. Her crop now feels empty for the most part but like there may be a bit of grit in there. She still gapes at night also and has been shaking her head so I treated at first with DE and then later Sevin as the symptoms didn;t stop. My ducks are now showing signs of diarhhea and one of them is making some sort of a weird chirp that sounds like a bark, the other duck is hunching her head down closer to her shoulders but my hubby says that this is normal for that particular duck. I can get meds but I'm new to this and was wondering what others recommend, I was thinking maybe Tylan, Ivermectin and Neomycin to cover all the bases? The hen won't cooperate with me checking her for gapeworms which really isnt helping matters. I'm just wondering if all of these would be okay to give to all of them and if they could all be given at once. If anyone has any recommendations I would be extremely grateful for input. I just want to make sure I'm getting the best (most broad spectrum/effective meds) as she isnt eating her feed really but is willing to eat anything else it seems, and since she's been on Corrid I've just been trying to offer feed since other foods may be too vitamin rich then counteracting the Corrid. But since tomorrow is her last day on orrid and she's still gaping at night and shaking her head there's clearly something else wrong.
