what predator do you hate most?

I always wonder how people lose so many chickens to dogs? Do they have a fenced yard where they free range? Mid day attacks?

So far we have been lucky, have yet to lose a bird to domestic or wild animals. We probably would have if we hadn't completely enclosed their run when they were younger. Several cats in the neighborhood were eyeballing them as chicks, now not so much. Now they are able to free range during the day within a fenced area and are locked up at night because of raccoons.

First DOGS , then racoons.........

For the record DOGS have killed more of my animals.........Kill two white tail deer fawns inside a 6 ft chainlink with a top, they just chase them until they broke their necks.....same with peafowl ,kill them without getting in the pen, scare them so bad ,they fly around untill hitting something ,like pen frame. sure it was dogs by prints in the snow.

My biggest lost ever was i let a flock of meat chicks out to range, 60 . my mistake went to town to get fast food, less than 40 min. came back 28 dead chickens...not one eaten...look like piles of snow all over the front yard. Had a appointment set for3 days later to have them butchered.

I have been fighting killer dogs for over 20 years.......guess my best result was when i told the guy next door.......i was going to kick his a** next time his dogs came over. call dog warden didnt help, shooting or trapping didn't help.(they just get another)

Oh yes he call the cops for my comments.....

Hate to tell you , but you have birds some day you will deal with a dog killing them..........heck just read on here.......some are even their own dogs

Dogs! Dogs with ding-a-ling owners are my biggest pet peeve! They kill chickens, chase cats, dig up gardens, S&P on everything, spread fleas, scare children and old women, and also bark all night. Phoo-ey on them.

Hawks and coons and next on my list is foxes. Hawks come out of nowhere and will kill anything no matter how big. coons are devious and will find anyway possible to get into the coop. foxes prey at dusk or dawn and pop out of the woods and knab a prize hen. I hate em all. I wish I had some kind of force field or something to keep them out.
