So I looked out this morning and saw lots of dead juvenile birds....everywhere! Very little blood, but lots of feathers around each body. Nothing was eaten off the birds but looks like they were killed for sport. I've never had predators before....please tell me what this is and how to fix it!

There were 24 dead birds!

I have heard that dogs will kill just for sport. When one dies it goes to the next one, without eating it or anything.
Sorry you lost so many birds.

Sounds like a dog(s). I had a "playful" neighbor's dog take out my flock of Orpingtons in March. Bodies everywhere, nothing eaten...looked like the birds were just tossed around. Almost like a dog's version of "cat and mouse".

Thanks everyone for your quick responses....I feel awful. I guess when the hubby gets home, we'll have to bury them. They were all about 15 week! Barred rocks.

Thanks Tammy...just made me sick! We had to dig a huge hole and bury them tonight. I have such a wonderful husband to do this for me!

Was wondering if anyone thought maybe coyotes?
